Haere mai ... welcome to Dargaville High School

Located in the North Island of New Zealand, Dargaville High School is a decile 3, co-ed state secondary school, teaching students from Years 9 to 13. Our rural school has an impressive record of achievement in academic, sporting and cultural fields. Many of our former students have gone on to great success in the worlds of science, politics, business and sport.

Dargaville High School and its adjacent boarding hostel is set in spacious grounds with its own swimming pool, and has well-equipped classrooms as well as specialist computing, drama, science and technology rooms. With a roll of just over 550, including adult students, the School is small enough to provide personal care and attention, but large enough to offer a range of subjects and activities to challenge our students so that they achieve their best.

Our aim is to provide a quality education to every student who attends our school. Dargaville High School encourages every student to develop and enhance their talents and we support them in a very special environment of care and concern. The relationship between school and home is a critical one.  Whanau members are always welcome at Dargaville High School. Their thoughts and ideas are valued and this partnership is essential for each one of our students to reach their full potential. We encourage all families to become involved with our school community.

Dargaville High School has a past with many proud traditions, serving the community of the Northern Wairoa in Northland, New Zealand since 1921.

Dargaville has clean air, open space and a quiet friendly environment, ideal for study. Deep sea fishing, yachting and boating harbours with unpolluted surf beaches and excellent water sport facilities are close to hand. Dargaville is just over two hours drive north of Auckland, New Zealand's major International Gateway. View Dargaville New Zealand Map
